Lula meets with Portuguese President arrived in Lisbon nothing else.

Lisbon, 19 May .- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, met with the Portuguese head of state, Anibal Cavaco Silva, nothing more to reach the Portuguese capital today for a summit focused on bilateral economic and cultural cooperation .

Silva, only staying for six hours in the Lisbon, had a brief private meeting with conservative Cavaco, who today presides over ceremony of the Camoes Prize,, terra cotta warriors, the main reward of lusas points, the winner of last edition, the Cape Verdean writer Armenio Vieira.

Following this act, the Brazilian president and prime minister Luso, the socialist Jose Socrates, the bilateral summit held at which foresees the signing of several cooperation documents.

Lula returns to Brazil tonight after concluding a tour that has taken him to Russia, Qatar, Iran and Spain, where he participated in the summit between the European Union and Latin America.

The summit agenda included Luso-Brazilian bilateral cooperation in technology and renewable energy projects, three bands with Portuguese-speaking African countries and increased investment and trade between Brasilia and Lisbon.

Among the main topics of the meeting are economic agreements between the oil company Galp lusa and Brazilian Petrobras, they progress in their joint projects on oil exploration in deep waters of Brazil and biofuels production and distribution for the Iberian market.

The summit will also address the strategy to give greater international projection to the Portuguese language, a matter in which Brazil and Portugal have shown strong commitment.  ecs / jc
